Do You Dream In Color?

The Gypsy Palace Tarot, The WorldToday’s card is from a deck I very much want. It was crowd-funded via Indie-Go-Go. I love my crowd-funded projects. Sadly, I couldn’t swing this one at that time. I did share it out though. 😀

The creatrix, Nora Huszka, is lovely. She shared some images with me so I could share them with you. I hope you will go like her Facebook page as well.

This self-published deck is limited and signed (which makes the collector in me drool, twitch and whine).

Here is her World. I love that the name is in English, German, Spanish and Hungarian. How interesting to see A Vilag for The World. I guess we really are one big village.:D

The eyes of Mother Earth peek out here with what seems, to me, to be a lava flow above her and the blue ocean beneath her. There is a spider web as well as fanciful tropical flowers. I can also see birds in this. What do you see?

This is one of those cards that would rock for meditation work. I can see setting this up then just falling into it. Can’t you? In a way, it brings to mind one of my favorite movies. That’s the lush “What Dreams May Come” with Robin Williams. He falls into a painting at one point. That scene is embedded in my memory for the colors and textures.

You see, I have a confession to make.

I dream in black and white.

I can think of a handful of times where I remember color in my dream.

Maybe that is why I am more drawn to the color decks on some days but the black and white decks also work.

What about you? How about this for today’s journal prompt:

What colors make me happy and why?

World, Community & Touch

Traditionally, there are four animals or people representing the archangels. But Butler has thrown a curve ball here.

Today is also the Tarot Blog Hop so check back at 2pm CST for my stop in this fabulous community of Tarot bloggers. There are twenty-eight of us signed up today. I hope you will set a reminder to come back by to see my post about Zombies and the care of Shadow Self.

Today’s card is from a brand new deck (well a republished version of a deck anyway). I’ve chatted with the artist/creator a few years ago when he collaborated with another person to create the Quantum Tarot.

When I pulled this card for today, my first though was, “Where are the corner figures?” Then I realized that the elements are the supporting corners. Traditionally, there are four animals or people representing the archangels. But Butler has thrown a curve ball here.

And I find that it works for me a lot. With Earth, Air, Fire, Water as the supports, I am reminded that my place in my World takes community, thought, passion and love. Without those things, I might not be able to dance as I do.

Sometimes though, I skimp on the community by letting it be all online. I find that when I get around my friends in the physical world, I am remind of how much I miss touch.

Just the friendly hand on the shoulder or the quick (or long) hug we are so free with. It’s nothing for one person to be on the couch with other basically puppy-piled around. I love sitting in a chair with a friend leaning against my legs while we play a silly game.

Physical touch. Real-time community. Someone else’s arms around you. Someone brushing your cheek as they pass. Someone tweaking your hair just because.

I was at an event this Sunday. It was populated mostly by gay men. I watched from my reading table as they joked and played and had an amazing time. It wasn’t so much sexual as it was friendly. And I loved it. Nearly everyone who sat at my table shook my hand. One swooped by to thank me for volunteering and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

Touch. How much do you need it? How much do you miss it? What are you doing to get more of it?

Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

P.to the S. This has what I am coming to think of as Schiffers’ trademark packaging with a nice book and a very sturdy box that includes a magnetized lid. It’s a pricey deck, but the packaging is worth it. I think it would be a fabulous holiday gift!

Oh! And please check out this video review that I did on another deck.

Midnight, People & Flipping Out

It’s midnight. You need to talk to someone. Who can you text to see if they are awake? Who do you KNOW who won’t flip out because you woke them up?

Today’s card is from one of the all-time best #Tarot decks according to Aeclectic. After yesterday’s calling out of the worst critics and harshest judges, I wanted to show you something more cheerful.

Did you know you have people? I mean like “these are my peeps” people that you can count on when the chips are down? It’s true! Do the following reality check.

It’s midnight. You need to talk to someone. Who can you text to see if they are awake? Who do you KNOW who won’t flip out because you woke them up?

Yeah. Them. They are your peeps, your posse, your entourage.

And we all have them. Just like you see in this card. Even though the central figure is the big one, she needs the company of friends. She’s free to dance her dance, sing her song, be her self because she has people.

So do you. And you are someone’s “people” too. So why not seek some joy today by dropping those people a line. Just tell them you are joy-filled and grateful that they are in your life.

Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

Stages, Acting & Ownership

Today’s card makes me a bit of a ham, I’m afraid. You see I’ve trod the boards a bit back in my younger day. Some might tell you that I still do but they are just JEALOUS I tell you. LOL

Seriously, I was in “As You Like It” in college (just one of the ladies, thanks but I got to sing and dance.) “All the world’s a stage” is the quote here, but I can’t help remembering “and we are all players” as the next line. I think. I haven’t Googled that to be sure.

But what are you doing with your stage? Is it ready to be trod upon? Are you ready for your close up? If that woman on Sunset Lane is ready, sure you can be as well.

Stop practicing. Stop rehearsing. Get out there and present what you have. Lingering in the wings only makes you a malingerer (I crack myself up, y’all!) Support crews are wonderful, but they don’t get the big font on the program, do they.

You are worth the big font, darlings. No matter what you do, you are the perfect person doing it. I don’t care that there are a good twenty other Tarot consultants (and I mean GREAT when I say good.) I know that on my stage I am the Queen Bee, the Diva, the Prima Donna. I am my own It Girl.

The Universe has given us all that stage of our very own. It’s up to me (and you) to step out and own that space. Even if that space isn’t the penthouse office in the Trump Towers, it’s still the penthouse of your world. Own it. Love it. Be it. Grab yourself a bumper sticker or an iPad case or a mug to remind yourself that you are a Professional Joy Seeker. Everyone needs to know.

All the world’s a stage. Are you ready to act like it?

The Tarot Nose

The World by Esscentual Alchemy

A Review

I have a nose for Tarot. And so does Amanda Feeley over at Esscentual Alchemy. We met through our mutual love for Joanna Powell Colbert and the Gaian Tarot. Amanda mentioned that she was blending some scents for the Gaian. I raised my hand (or did I poke my nose in?) to offer to sniff and blab.

So I got six little bottles today. I’m going to do each one individually. I started with the World. I chose this very scientifically. I Continue reading “The Tarot Nose”
