What Are Your Dreams?

But the big dreams? The ones that are so scary I might as well say I am going to run for President? Those dreams? Yeah, those.

WakingWildSpirit_3FireToday’s card has so much to love. It’s a very unusual interpretation of this card. Normally you see someone standing waiting on something to happen. But in the Waking The Wild Spirit (Poppy Palin, Llewellyn, 2002) we are offered a different scenario.

The fairy could be born of the sun behind him. He holds a lantern with a candle (makes me think of the Hermit and his lamp). He launches a moth from his finger. A hedgehog waits beneath the mushroom…and is that angel’s cap to the bottom right?

For a card of waiting, there is a lot happening here. I like that for this card. If you follow the numbers, the ace of fire is about the potential of passion while the two is about a passionate partnership. It could be said this is the results of that passion. 😀

He’s come together with someone else to create something magical. Now he must pause for the results.

What about you? It’s nearly the end of February. For those of you working through with me (and it’s not too late!), where are you in your exploration of your Incredible Year? From our Facebook group, I know some of us are feeling a bit overwhelmed. The biggest sticking point seems to be the “100 Things” list.

I admit that I haven’t written down 100 things I want do do this year. And, grin, some of my list has been written down AFTER I have done it. But it is helping me remember that there are things I want to do.

Do you know that these things are not great earth-shattering events? They are small, nurturing things mostly. I think the biggest one on that list is “fly a kite on the beach.” Not going to change the world with that one, am I?

But the big dreams? The ones that are so scary I might as well say I am going to run for President? Those dreams? Yeah, those.

I have written two of those down along with steps to get there. One is already a done deal. I just got the final illustrations from Lisa Hunt and will be adding them to my Fairy Tale Tarot Spreads eBoook. Those of you who got the non-illustrated version will get the new version free. And I’ve made the decision to beef up the verbiage just a bit as well as shuffle a few things around.

What are your dreams? What do you want to do this year?

Want to know what my other dream is? The scary, big one? I want to hear one of three people say, “Seek Joy, Y’all” to an international audience. No, I won’t tell you who they are other than they are all female and very famous.

So what’s holding me back?

All I need to do is write three letters and mail them. Then I have to wait to see what happens.

Of course, while I’m waiting, I’ll be launching another moth into the air because I am not willing to pause this year. It’s too important. I’m creating my incredible year.

Are you? It’s not too late.

Can you commit to 180 seconds today to write down your dreams? You don’t have to show a soul. Just write them down and then list the steps to get there.

Three of Fire, Waking The Wild Spirit, Llewellyn 2002

Seek Joy, Y’all. Pass it on.

What Will You Hear Today?

Will you give your Higher Power just three minutes of attention? A mere 180 seconds?

WakingTheWildSpirit_2AirToday’s card brings me such joy. The elfin grin. The open mouths. The patient parent. All combined in Poppy Palin’s fanciful world of the Waking The Wild Spirit Tarot. It’s a joy.

It reminds me that sometimes we need to watch for signs. They really are everywhere. No, I’m not talking about that stop sign I almost ran yesterday.

I mean the things we need to pay attention to–listen for. When we get quiet with ourselves, then we can hear and learn. Have you ever actually heard baby birds in nest? Ever followed the sound of a babbling brook to find a quiet stream of contemplation?

How often do you turn off everything and sit in quiet?

I’ll tell y’all a secret.

I am never in silence.

Never.

I normally have the TV off unless I’m looking at it. I don’t run the radio much at all.

But it’s never utterly quiet.

I have tinnitis. Constant crickets in my cranium. Right now all I have on in my home is a ceiling fan. And I hear a consistent whining that follows me everywhere.

It’s one of the Suckies of my life.

So I have to really focus when I’m out listening for the small sounds. I actually can cover one ear and not hear certain pitches. This is useful sometimes…wicked grin. I can tune high pitched complainers out. snort

I compensate by sight. Which is really funny when you consider that I don’t have good eyesight either. But I see things. I recognize birds at a distance where others don’t. I’m constantly being told, “How did you see that?”

All I can answer is, “I paid attention.”

How will you pay attention today? What signs will you see? Write them down. See which ones keep coming up. What words or phrases or thoughts continually turn up in a pattern for you?

That’s the Universe (my word for the Higher Power) communicating with you.

Will you give your Higher Power just three minutes of attention? A mere 180 seconds?

By the way? Consider what happens when you turn 180 degrees.

2013 January Tarotscopes

WakingTheWildSpirit_13WandsToday is not a card. OH NO! It’s the first day of the year and I’m not posting a card? WTH, Arwenbelle?

Oh calm down, ya sillies! It’s the first day of 2013 but it’s also the first day of the month so that means it’s time for my monthly Tarotscopes.

I used the Waking the Wild Spirit Tarot by Poppy Palin. The WildWitch I’m showing here is a card that came up in this month’s podcast as well as some personal work I did last night.

Don’t forget that I’m giving away my Fairytales Tarot Spreads eBook this month with the purchase of this workbook+planner. Please note that I’m ONLY offering this eBook if you purchase through this link –>

I’m doing this because I’m currently in a contest and I WANT TO WIN. lol

The January Shout Out goes to Joanna Powell Colbert’s Magical Tarot Dreams Sessions for 2013. I recommend her! I’ve done eCourses and telecalls with Joanna. She’s a great teacher.

So what do you do for New Year’s Day? I’ve got my ham and black-eyed peas simmering on the stove. There’s pre-shredded coleslaw in the fridge waiting to be eaten. I’ve done this for so long I can’t remember who taught me to do this. I want to say my mother, but I’m just not sure.

Much love to you and yours.

Let’s make 2013 a joy-filled year.

Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

Sun, Circus & Muscle

Today’s card is a reminder of what you can reach. It also made me giggle because I was thinking of my bucket list event last night.

One of the things Leonie Dawson’s does is has you build a list of things you want to do for 2013. These are not necessarily huge things. But it got me to thinking about my bucket list for my life.

No, I haven’t seen the movie.
Yes, I want to see the movie.

Anyway! One of those bucket list items was to see Cirque Du Soleil. I did that last night. I went solo but sat next to the most charming man. He’s seen CdS many times and told me quite a bit. We were sitting two rows from the floor on the side. So while I may not have seen the full frontal approach, what I saw mesmerized me. I even forgot to clap every now and again.

This show, Saltimbanco, is not one of the huge production numbers that the others seem to be (if I am to believe the advertising). It was far more focused on the acrobatics along with some very silly interludes. There was music. There were fanciful folk who seemed to be truly enjoying their time on stage. I loved it.

I will be going to see “O” based on the suggestion of the gentleman. Oddly, I never got his name. Learned a lot about him…he graduated from high school in the town where I was born. Small world, right?

But check this card out. Do you see why it made me giggle when I pulled it? Other than the whole Sun/Soleil funny.

The dancer in the lower left of course. Her form reminded me of what I saw last night.

That made me think of all the years and years of training each performer must have gone through just to get to the Cirque du Soleil troupe. And then how much they must practice to make it look so easy.

That ties into my philosophy about seeking joy, y’all. It’s not easy, really. Not always. You have to practice it. You have to stay mentally focused on seeking joy.

We are wired to look for trouble and danger. Did you know that? It’s true. It’s part of the survival instinct.

So if you want to change your world, you have to exercise your joy-seeking muscle every day.

Have you gotten your workbook+planner yet? We have started gathering in the seeeekrit Facebook page. We would love for you to join us as well. . It’s not pricey! You can get both for $17.90 or either the business or personal for $9.95. Then you print it off. So if you aren’t into the colors, you can do black and white.

Seek joy, y’all! Work that muscle until you are ready for the big stage. We will call it Hoop du Joy!
