Witches, Waiting & Wanting

This is an unusual depiction of this card. Rather than the more common figure of someone waiting for something to happen, we have three women. In my head they are more than the maiden, the mother and the crone. They make me think of the Moirai, Clothos, Lachesis and Atropos.

And doesn’t that capture the 3 of Wands perfectly? How much time do you spend waiting? How much could you have accomplished if you’d been doing something else while waiting for “it” to happen?

There is much that we can’t control. And many of us, myself included, struggle against that reality. We can’t control the weather. We can’t control the traffic. We can’t control the higher ups at work. We can’t control other people’s reactions.

But we try. Oh how we try.

And how much time we waste waiting for them to get with our program.

How about…just for today…we focus on getting with our own program?

You can’t control what they eat. You can control what you eat.

You can’t control how much they sit on the couch and watch TV (or at the table on the computer), but you can control your own butt’s movement.

Stop frittering your life away waiting for them to make changes. Make your changes. If they come along, fabulous. If they don’t, it was time to make a change.

Don’t waste time waiting today. Do.

Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.
