Gaian Tarot Explorer EarthWelcome to this week’s Tarotscopes. I hope you enjoy them.

Tired of being sad? Done with all the negativity in this world? Let’s work together to bring you back to the joy path. No time like the present to get started on your own joy seeker’s life. I’m ready to help. Are you ready to start?

Want to test the waters with a three card email reading? Just buy Leonie’s workbook from . Let me know you got it (digital or print, it doesn’t matter) by contacting me. I’ll set up your free three card email reading.

There’s still time to check in on too.

CARD OF THE WEEK: CHILD OF WATER [inlinetweet prefix=”CARD OF THE WEEK” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”]This is a good week to open[/inlinetweet] your heart up. Engage in childlike activities: crayons, skipping rope, loving all you meet. Be open to love this week to find the most joy.

AQUARIUS NINE OF WATER [inlinetweet prefix=”AQUARIUS” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”]Something big is coming. Check in with your[/inlinetweet] heart’s desires. What are you doing to actively create that energy in your world? It’s coming. Are you ready?

PISCES FIVE OF WATER [inlinetweet prefix=”PISCES” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”]Stop waiting for someone else to fulfill you. You’ve got[/inlinetweet] two hands and a working heart, right? Make your own needs important. Stop moping and start creating.

ARIES FOUR OF AIR What ideas are percolating? Mental prospects need nurturing. Writing them down is good, but go a step further. Create actionable steps to follow through.

TAURUS THE CHARIOT[inlinetweet prefix=”TAURUS” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”] Where do you need to push more? What requires[/inlinetweet] a firmer hand on the rein? Have you allowed yourself to be run over? Time to step up to the wheel Who’s really in charge?

GEMINI EXPLORER OF EARTH [inlinetweet prefix=”GEMINI” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”]Stubbornness may win the day this week. Determine[/inlinetweet] your best course of action then stick to it. Learning your community’s strengths and weaknesses could be the way to go.

CANCER FIVE OF AIR [inlinetweet prefix=”CANCER” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”]Competition rarely thrills a crab, but this could be[/inlinetweet] the week to show them what you can do. Pick your teammates carefully. The loudest aren’t always the best.

LEO THE MOON [inlinetweet prefix=”LEO” tweeter=”@Tarotscopes” suffix=”..more #tarot”]Emotional cycles may seem overwhelming. Don’t let[/inlinetweet] past downers ruin current good times. Someone from the past may make an unwelcome appearance.

VIRGO FIVE OF FIRE [inlinetweet prefix=”VIRGO” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”]Okay, honey. There are weeks when you can let things[/inlinetweet] go. This isn’t one of them. Just control your temper as best you can but definitely let them know your feelings.

LIBRA THE TEACHER[inlinetweet prefix=”Libra” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”] Turn to your mentors for guidance. Your reconnection[/inlinetweet] with your own spiritual path leads you to success. Don’t lose sight of your personal boundaries but you can push them a bit more.

SCORPIO ACE OF EARTH [inlinetweet prefix=”SCORPIO” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”]Great week to start a business. Get a [/inlinetweet]plan together. Not enough money? Start a savings budget. Stick to it. This is slow, but steady growth for you if you work the magic.

SAGITTARIUS BINDWEED [inlinetweet prefix=”Sagittarius” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”…more #tarot”]Stop giving into the baser things. You’ve been putting[/inlinetweet] body before mind again. Don’t overdo the physical. By balancing the spiritual, you will make greater gains in what you want.

CAPRICORN SIX OF FIRE [inlinetweet prefix=”Capricorn ” tweeter=”@tarotscopes” suffix=”… more #tarot”]Passion rules but you may not have time for it. Find time to [/inlinetweet]dance, laugh, sing. Celebrate all the wins–especially the small ones. Definitely engage with others to share the kudos coming your way.

Remember to seek joy, y’all. Pass it on!

Blow It Away

Blow it away. Sounds easy, right? Simple? Or maybe simplistic. Maybe ridiculous.

Blow it away. Sounds easy, right? Simple? Or maybe simplistic. Maybe ridiculous.

Bear with me. I want you to try something. If you have a dandelion handy, fabulous. If not, use your imagination, darling.

Look at the dandelion. See all those little seeds ready to take off at a moment’s notice? What if each one of them was a game changer? A fate changer? A reality changer?

What if you blew into that center of seeds while making, not a wish, but a statement of purpose. A statement that defined your own desires to create space for joy in your life–whatever that joy might look like?

See, dandelions are weeds. Those seeds represent so many weeds. But change your perspective. Change your point of view. Change your attitude.

See them as the happy yellow flowers they will become. See them as the green leaves that can be used for medicine. See them as the white puffballs children delight in blowing away.

Blow it away. Change your fate.
Blow it away. Create space for joy.

Seek joy, y’all! Pass it on.

The Joy Challenge: Day Six

Life really can be a bowl of cherries but you do have to work to push the pits out!

Bowl of Cherries
Bowl of Cherries

It’s Saturday so it is day six of the Joy Challenge. Are you still in the game? Still talking to yourself in the mirror? Still opening up to being a joy magnet?

Let me here from you! Tell me one small joy that has happened this week. Right now, mine is watching a tiny sparrow bravely push itself into the crowd of larger birds at my feeder. Such a brave little thing!

All together now! Head up, chin out!

“I am a joy seeker. Joy finds me. I am a joy magnet.”

P. to the S. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the monthly ‘scopes are once again delayed. I’m working to get them out today but it may be tomorrow. 😀

The Joy Challenge: Day Two

It’s day two of the joy challenge.

Joy is being willing for things to be as they are. It’s day two of our week-long Joy Seeking challenge. It may still feel a bit silly to face yourself in the mirror, but do it anyway. You can do it in the morning, the afternoon, at night–it doesn’t matter when as long as you do it at least once a day.

Try singing it to yourself. I’m not much of a singer but I love to make up tunes.

Here is a quote from Charlotte Joko Beck. I took a snapshot of a page from “A Year of Living Mindfully” by Richard Fields. It’s a book that sits in my therapist’s waiting room.

Therapist? Did I just admit to seeing a therapist?

You ding-dang-dong betcha I did. I see here about once a month now. Used to be once a week and we’ve gradually shoved the times back a bit. I highly recommend it if you can find the right therapist for you.

One of the things I’ve learned with her is how to be more present and be more accepting of what is. So for today, just practice letting things be as they are.

And say to yourself in the mirror, “I am a joy seeker. Joy finds me. I am a joy magnet.”

The Beck quote is from “A Year of Living Mindfully” which is a lovely little book. I hope you investigate it.

Yesterday I challenged us to all do a mirror affirmation together for one week. What is a mirror affirmation? Well, it’s simple. You look at yourself in the mirror each day. Do this first thing after getting up.

State the following out loud. You can laugh. You can giggle. You can feel a bit awkward. It’s okay. Just do this at least once a day for seven days.

“I am a joy seeker. Joy finds me. I am a joy magnet.”

Feel free to comment here. Did you feel silly? Did you worry someone might hear? Did you do it?

We are on a mission to become professional joy seekers. This is week one. Do invite others to join you too.

Tumbling, Consistency and Waves

Daily spiritual practices are something I am trying to get back to in a more consistent way. Consistency and I are not always the best of pals.

Explorer of Water, Gaian Tarot Limited EditionToday’s card comes from a question I answered that Joanna Powell Colbert asked in her Gaian Soul Circle Community which is a private online community. If you haven’t joined to check it out, I hope you will.

But Joanna asked us to share about our daily spiritual practices. I wanted to share my answer here with you as well.

Daily spiritual practices are something I am trying to get back to in a more consistent way. [Tweet “Consistency and I are not always the best of pals.”]

I was doing daily affirmations and flowed away from those. I flowed back today.

Flow is an interesting choice of words since my daily card was the Explorer of Water. I just realized that to ride the wave in, he has to ride the wave out.

To get where I love to be, I must ride the wave in as often as I ride it out. I let the water carry me forward to new and out to those scary places that I must experience. Then I come home to the shore. It’s a cycle and it fits my very Piscean nature.

Joanna shares this on her page. “His ally is Dolphin, who offers the gifts of balance, harmony and the wisdom of deep breathing.”

Is it any surprise that I’ve been working with an app that helps you focus on how to breathe? No, I didn’t think so.

I am reminded of a poem that I wrote in 1999.

Tumbling

Tumbling at the ocean’s edge,
I am a starfish pulling myself in
A sea turtle pushing myself out.
Five pointed star,
Or sea-shelled creature
Will you still love them both?

Head out, Head in,
Or regeneration.
Which would you hate?
Which would you love?
Will you be a quiet pool
that I seek refuge in?

Tidepool sunlight on wet sand,
and no depths for me to hide in.
Will you cover me with the
salty water of your love,
insisting that I stay in the light?

If the tide calls back for me
and I am carried away once more
will you be there when I return,
a quiet pool for me?

Mocking, Reflections & Words

I am not perfect. I find Yankee jokes hysterical. I should be kinder to the regionally-challenged.

Today’s card is from a very special deck. It’s an oracle deck, but so much more. It’s from Schiffer and it is the Inspiration for Survivors deck. It’s very uplifting.

I chose this deck and this card very intentionally today. Sometimes I pull randomly. Today wasn’t one of those days. You see, I read this letter to Ann Coulter from special Olympian John Franklin Stephens. He took offense at a word she used against someone. Ann Coulter tweeted this:

“@AnnCoulter: I highly approve of Romney’s decision to be kind and gentle to the retard.”

He responded with a letter to her which you can read here (and I highly recommend that you do read it):

I’m not going to delve into the politics of this. I’m going to talk about why we must remember that we are reflections of each other.

When you mock a skinny woman, you don’t know if the woman sitting next to you fought and won her battle with anorexia.

When you mock a fat man, you don’t know if the man sitting next you has a father who battled obesity.

When you joke that your friend should ride the short bus, you don’t know if the person next to you puts their beloved child on that short bus every school day.

When you gather your girlfriends to exchange catty gossip about that slut at school, you don’t know if she uses sex to replace the love she never receives at home

You can’t know.

You should think about it though. You should think about how you want to be reflected. Is your reflection in others one of kindness and caring? Is it one that encourages them to lift themselves up?

I am not trying to shake a finger so much as offer some thoughts on why words hurt. You see, I lived with a young man who was called a retard on a regular basis. He rode the short bus. He was mentally challenged. But you know what?

He understood what retard meant. To him it meant “we don’t like you because you are not like us.” And it hurt him.

Retard.
Fatty.
Skank.
Slut.
Cripple.

How about:

Differently abled. Needs love. Looking for friends. Needs kindness.

Choose your words. Consider jokes you send out. Are they funny or do they mock someone for being blond or a Yankee or or or?

I am not perfect. I find Yankee jokes hysterical. I should be kinder to the regionally-challenged.

I am not perfect. I gossip. I mock others.

I simply try not to do those things.

I simply try to be better than my reflection.

Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

Rage, Scorpio Moons & Asking Too Much

Instead of that Five of Fire spewing wrath in a focused way, I want to be my Three of Water self. Seeking joy. Seeking play. Seeking others of a like mind. I didn’t expect to find my work…

The Gaian Tarot’s Five of Fire captures my current feeling perfectly. I am working on a project that involves pulling all of my many Tarot spreads into one place. I did a search on one to find out when I first published it. Can you imagine Continue reading “Rage, Scorpio Moons & Asking Too Much”

And Then There Were Six

I haven’t done this before but I’ve threatened to so don’t say you haven’t been warned. I’m doing a follow-up to my Season 10 predictions post. And I’m not happy about what it says about my personal favorite, Scotty!

I haven’t done this before but I’ve threatened to so don’t say you haven’t been warned. I’m doing a follow-up to my Season 10 predictions post.

On that post, I said that Jacob, Scotty, Lauren and James would be in the top four. They are in the top six. Last year two of my top four predictions were already gone.

I did another reading on these six. And I’m not happy about the results. Continue reading “And Then There Were Six”
