Rants, Wrong Decks + Focus

There’s not a thing wrong with this deck. In fact, this deck is one of the enduring popular ones. It just doesn’t do a thing for me really. And why is that? It’s colorful and the images are rich.

SacredRose_11Pentacles001Today’s card is from a deck I don’t really use. It’s one that is on the list to sell if I ever get around to selling off my collection.

There’s not a thing wrong with this deck. In fact, this deck is one of the enduring popular ones. It just doesn’t do a thing for me really. And why is that? It’s colorful and the images are rich.

They just don’t speak to me.

When I try to read with a deck that I don’t connect with, it’s like stuffing a round peg in a square hole. A much smaller square hole at that.

I used to smile and nod when someone said something I didn’t agree with. Then I went through a period where Arwen had to have her say. I didn’t really care how mean or cruel I was. I let my Scorpio moon fly.

These days, I choose what I rant about. I’m more careful. Part of that is because of some of the organizations I represent. But more of it is because it is just tiring.

Our little Page of Pentacles is very focused on his task at hand. A glittering gold rose rises up at his call.

Instead of going off about honest mistakes and Mercury Retrograde, I think I’ll focus on my upcoming eCourse. It will be 33 days of lessons, prompts and handouts to help you write your book. It’s over forty thousand words but broken down into smaller chunks.

Like this rose with all of its petals, I know those who purchase this self-guided eCourse will put the pieces together for something amazing. I can’t wait to see what blooms.

What about you? What are you focused on right now that is good? That is clean and without negativity? Let’s try to get through this Mercury Retrograde without too much sturm und drang, shall we?

Today’s journal prompt is, “How can I vent in a self-empowering way without dragging myself down into their mud?”
