Let’s check out this week’s TarotsCopes, shall we? Yes, I think I will stick with Tarot Copes as a new name.

First, here’s a round-up of this past week’s post in case you missed them.

CARD OF THE WEEK: Five of Swords What squirms in your mind? What needs to be cut away? Releasing self-doubt is the key. Work on focus.

AQUARIUS EIGHT OF SWORDS Challenging? Yes, this week will be, but you have done the work. Unfold, blossom, spread your wings. You’ll be fine.

PISCES STRENGTH Remember the key to true success is to control your reactions. Thinking first is best. Breathing is better. Act don’t react.

ARIES FIVE OF WANDS Competition can improve you as long as you are competing against yourself first. The others are fun, but you are your biggest challenge.

TAURUS SON OF PENTACLES Money moves forward. Maybe slowly, but it is forward. Look where you were 6 months ago. Celebrate the steady measured growth.

GEMINI FOUR OF WANDS Stick close to home. Tackle that to-do list around the house. Time to celebrate in small ways so invite friends over.

CANCER HIEROPHANT Honey, if you are breaking your own rules, who’s really to blame? Rewrite what’s not working. Stick with what is working.WildUnknown_3cards

LEO FIVE OF PENTACLES Time to dehead fading roses. Let go of those who are sucking you dry. Focus on those who give back. Hard times pass.

VIRGO DAUGHTER OF WANDS Growth. Look to your personal passions for ways to bring meaning to your life. Get fired up and get started now.

LIBRA DEVIL Many temptations to do the wrong thing. Stay strong. Stay on track. Don’t let your base needs overrule your head. Just say no.

SCORPIO SON OF WANDS Rise up to meet the challenges. Face your fears head on to win. Movement and action are your key words. Get going.

SAGITTARIUS THREE OF SWORDS Thoughts of past hurts can take you down. Understand that it is over. It’s done. Betrayal hurts. Don’t wallow.

CAPRICORN SIX OF COINS Memories serve you well. Reflect on happiest time. Recreate them in the here and now? Sure you can. Family is the key.

Today’s deck? Wild Unknown Tarot is bringing me joy. Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

Firm Trouble + Panic

Then comes the email from our editor that says, “Firm Trouble has a publish date of 8/22. Now while that is exciting, it also translates into a lot of work.

Firm Trouble by Marilu MannToday is a big day in the Arwen world. I just got word that book twelve will be out August 22.

Now while that is exciting, it also translates into a lot of work. Because writing the book is only half the battle. In fact, in some ways, writing the book is the easy part. Well, I can say that once the darn thing has been written, submitted, accepted, edited and put into the publish queue.

[Tweet “The email from our editor says, “Firm Trouble has a publish date of 8/22.” #amwriting”]

Scramble the jets!
Call out GI JOE!

That’s pretty much my internal reaction. My external is less dramatic. I think.

Folks always ask me if I’m excited to write a book. Yes and no. It’s very fulfilling to be able to tell my stories (our stories, since I write with the world’s best writing partner, Cai. She also happens to be my life-long best friend.) I write as Marilu Mann

The real pay-off for me is when people read my book. I love reading reviews. Even the bad ones give me a charge because someone took the time to express their opinion. Okay, so sometimes I stick my tongue out at the bad reviews. Hey! I’m human.

So here’s a list of just my shifter series books. They are all available for Kindle, Nook, and PC as well as other reading devices.

1. Changing Times (Lusting Wild 1) Antique shop owner, Tony Pantera, falls for Dr. Carly Chambers. This sexy panther shifter resists his primal need for the human doctor, but a shifter war means he has to protect her.

2. Changing Hearts (Lusting Wild 2) Malcolm has abandoned his Pack. Joie finds an injured wolf in the swamp. Little does she know that her healing touch is going to have to soothe not only a wolf but also a man. When she finds out the man is a wolf, can she love both?

3. Changing Focus (Lusting Wild 3)Micah doesn’t want to be Alpha. He also doesn’t know what to do with the photojournalist at his Wisconsin lodge. There’s something different about Olivia. Can he convince her to embrace her wild side?

4. Changing Paths (Lusting Wild 4) Harmony returns to her Pack. She can’t answer the call of the moon but her daughter shows all the signs of being Moon-Called. When Gareth shows up, Harmony has to deal with her own hormones. The scarred handyman is everything she wants as well as everything she can’t have–a Moon-Called male.

You can see all the books available from Marilu Mann here. You can also visit our Amazon author page or find us at Goodreads. And thanks so much for taking the time to read, rate and review.

Today’s affirmation!

I am creative. I am whole in my self. I am beautiful, strong and kind. Compassion is my first reaction. Loved and loving, I love each of you. Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

Welcome to your tarotscopes for the week of June 15-21, 2014. Out of the twelve signs we had five in the same suit with three of the four courts of that suit showing up. The card of the week was also in that suit. Going to be an interesting week, I think.

Are You Mossy?

GEM78_5This card reminds me that a rolling stone gathers no moss. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

On the no moss side, you are assured of a constantly changing view. You will never be bored if you are always on the move.

On the moss side, you would find time to rest and time to sink your roots down into a place before gallivanting off again.

I’ve been both, I think. I’ve lived in Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, Michigan, Georgia, Utah, and Colorado with several repeat stops in both Louisiana and Texas.

One of the pluses of that gadfly behaviour was the chance to make and maintain friendships all over the country. Thanks to finding the internet (that was in Michigan), I met people I would have never met.

The first stop for me on the internet was pre-world wide web days. In fact, as I write this, I’m wearing a sweatshirt that proudly says, “use your modem to dial.” Oh yeah, those were the days. My first home on the ‘net was a place called Grex. It was magical for me. It’s still out there too!

I found a place where there were areas to be myself as well as areas to play in fantasy worlds as another character. I think it was the first place I exercised my creative writing other than via letters with Cai who is the other half of Marilu Mann.

The Four of Swords here is from AGMuller’s Gemstones and Crystals Tarot. While I don’t necessarily agree with all the choices this deck makes, I love moss agate for the Four of Swords.

Have you been a rolling stone? Where did you roll to?

Have you gathered moss? Where were you when you first felt that idea of “Oh, this is what it feels like to belong?”

I’m challenging you today to use 180 seconds of your day to focus on one of those questions. Then tell me about it.

Four of Swords, Tarot of Gemstones and Crystals, AGMuller 2007

Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

I’ve learned how to take my mossy and non-mossy self to the next level with Leonie Dawson. You can too. Click the graphic below (aff link) to learn how. I have belonged since last May and it has truly galvanized me. I’d love to have you join me on this journey.

Are You Humble?

zentangle009Today’s card is from my zentangles. It’s actually a mandala with zentangle elements. I’m most proud of the shading on this one.

I hesitated before I wrote that. It seems…well…a bit prideful, you know? (Pssst, you can click it to see a larger image)

But then again, why shouldn’t I say I like something that I did? Lately I’ve seen a trend. There’s this overbearing sense of humility out on the web.

“Gee, I don’t have anything you could possible want but here’s a book I wrote. Maybe you’ll like it?”

“Oh I don’t know why you are here reading my post when you could be out doing something really amazing.”

“If you have nothing better to do, maybe you could tell a friend about this widget I’m selling? It might really be okay.”

Y’all. Listen up.

There’s nothing wrong with saying, “I am selling houses now. If you are in the market, chat me up. I’ve got some killer marketing strategies.”

“I rock at teaching entrepeneurs how to really shine.”

Which would you be more interested in?

A) So yeah, I write naughty girl porn books
B) I write this great series about sexy-as-sin shifters who meet their matches. From steamy New Orleans to saunas in Wisconsin, you will want one of these passionate hotties curled up in the bed with you.

I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again.

Be your own publicist.

I give you permission to tell me something amazing about yourself in the comments. Got a book you wrote? Have a product you sell? Host a can’t-be-missed radio show? Are you one bad mammajamma?

Tell me. Sing your own praises. Believe in yourself.

Yep, that’s your 180 seconds today. Commit to believing yourself. Commit to buying the hype about YOU.

I think you are freakin’ awesome. I want you to believe that too.

Oh and hey. I wrote this hella hot series about singe-your-hair sexy shifters. Check them out!

Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

Zentangle, Arwen Lynch, 2013

Hoo boy, Arwen is hot under the collar. I think if I drew a card, I’d get the Five of Fire right now. Full on flame-throwing fire-breathing dragon mode.

Hoo boy, “teh Arwen” is hot under the collar. I think if I drew a card, I’d get the Five of Fire right now. Full on flame-throwing fire-breathing dragon mode.

Here is what Joanna Powell Colbert says of this card:

A fire performer spits billowing flames out of his mouth. Twisted faces of gargoyles or maddened creatures form in the smoke and fire.

Divinatory meaning: Anger, rage, fury. Hubris. A dangerous game. The temptation to dominate or have power over others.

Someone is trying to dominate another. And it is making me FURIOUS. You see, Continue reading “Tick…Tick…BOOM!”

Sex And Trouble by Marilu Mann:

“Marielle has just learned she’s a hereditary witch whose inheritance comes with a creepy house and a hot butler who is really a trapped sex demon. Mari doesn’t believe in magick or demons. But once she sees her butler’s—ahem—horns, she has to face the facts. And, he can only be released through mutual sexual pleasure.

Although Mari’s sexier than anyone he’s ever known, Rosier wants to go home. If that means making Mari scream in ecstasy, he’ll just have to deal. It’s simple. They have to unlock her powers, defeat her father’s enemy and have mind-blowing sex…in the next two weeks or he’s trapped forever. What’s a girl to do when her inheritance leads to Sex and Trouble? Enjoy it!”

Musings on the Ace of Air

What do pirates and butterflies and friends we’ve never met have in common?

Today’s Gaian Tarot is the Ace of Air. It makes me smile just looking at it! A Monarch butterfly has left its cocoon and is nearly ready to fly. Did you know that the butterfly is not born ready to fly? The larva leaves the shelter of its silken tomb Continue reading “Musings on the Ace of Air”
