Tarotscopes 1/19-1/25/14

I would love to help you find your joy. I use Tarot as a vehicle to explore ways to solidify your joy seeking practices and to guide you towards decisions that will be best for your life.

Hey y’all! Are you ready to start a new week of seeking joy? I want you to do something for yourself this week. Just a random nice thing for you. Maybe that means an extra five minutes in a hot tub. Perhaps it’s a new book you’ve been wanting. Or it could be something that just pops up!

I bought myself roses yesterday. Pretty pink roses that were five bucks at the grocery store. Then I put them in a white jug. The beauty was instant and easy. I looked at them in the store thinking, “I wish someone would buy me flowers.” Then I moved on to do my shopping. I went past the roses again and spent some time chatting with the florist about a really gorgeous bromeliad she had. It had pink and purple spiky flowers that were very striking. I didn’t buy myself roses. I went to get in line. But you know what?

I realized in that moment that five dollars wasn’t all that much in my budget. I realized that I really wanted those pretty pretty roses at my home. I went back to get the roses before I checked out. And grinned all the way home.

Do Something nice for you today.

[Tweet “Here are your Tarotscopes for the week of 1/19-1/25. What does yours say?”]

P. to the S. I’m doing them on the blog now because I can do a more in-depth reading without being limited by 140 characters. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • AQUARIUS THE HERMIT Look for joy by following your own light. Strike out on your own. Don’t worry that it might be “weird”. Hey! You are an Aquarius and weird is part of your astrological makeup. Seek knowledge for the sake of understanding. Ferret out why a clock works. Explore the essence of your left big toe. Don’t limit your seeking to what others say you “should” learn. Learn for your self. Indulge your encyclopedia reading habit this week.
  • PISCES DEATH Time to make some changes. You can mourn or you can grow. Of course, you can do both, but I recommend focusing on growth. Death means changes in your world. Be strong enough to make the right choices for yourself. Don’t keep something or someone just because you’ve always had that energy in your life. What you let go of this week can bring you joy this year. Make it happen.
  • ARIES PAGE OF CUPS Someone makes an overture of love this week. I suggest it be you to you. Write yourself a love letter. Buy yourself a cup of coffee. Open up communication with your self to repair bridges. The friend you need the very most may be the face in your mirror. Reach out to yourself to see what would be a good date night. Then do it. Don’t make excuses. Take yourself out.
  • TAURUS THREE OF WANDS Things are beginning to pay off. You can expect that your passion will bring you rewards. It’s been a long wait, I think, but this week is the start of you getting what you deserve. Make sure you’ve been working for the right things or what you deserve may not be what you want. The ship that is about to come in was pre-loaded by you. Be careful. Cargo may have shifted during transport and some contents may have settled. Don’t skimp on what you deserve.
  • GEMINI SEVEN OF COINS Growth happens. Make sure you are focused on the good growth. The more emphasis you put on the negative, the more you get. Same goes for the positive. Which will it be, my Gemini darlings? Do you need more negativity in your live? Or do you want to bring forth the good that you know you require? I checked your Universal balance. Looks like you are drawing more on the “what went wrong” rather than pulling out of the “Wow you’re amazing” accounts. Why?
  • CANCER TEN OF WANDS Okay. So you’ve got a lot to do. You can handle it. The only thing I need to remind you of today (and tomorrow and the day after that…) is you have permission to say no. You have my authority to say, “Thank you, but my plate is full.” Clear the to-do list before you add to it if you want to make it through without pulling out your hair AND theirs. No is okay to say. I promise!
  • LEO THE DEVIL So there’s some things you’ve been indulging in that aren’t the best for your precious lion heart. I need you to step away from the emotional excesses, the physical over-doings, the spiritual deprivations. Now pay attention. I’m not saying totally stop. I’m staying you need to be heedful of what you are doing that is simply avoiding the hard work. Don’t fool yourself into thinking you can pretend it isn’t there. will you let your indulgences destroy all your past hard work? I didn’t think so. Get going, Leo.
  • VIRGO NINE OF COINS Nice week for you practical lovers. Wishes come true this week but you will have to put some effort forth for that. Expect to be noticed by someone in a position of power. They may offer you something that you think you don’t deserve. Put aside your humility. Shake their hand and thank them. Step into the place of recognition and be proud of what you have done.
  • LIBRA THREE OF CUPS Happiness and joy are your coin this week. Spend them freely. Share your joy with others to refill your own cups. This is an unending cycle once you realize that you are the font of all that is good. Trust the Universe wants you to be happy and be happy. It really is as simple as that, darlings. This is your week to step into your professional Joy Seeker shoes.
  • SCORPIO ACE OF CUPS Love letters can be trusted. Offers to make you the bombdiggity of someone else’s world are highly possible. Open your heart up to the beauty around you and within you. As you express your love for all, that is reflected back to you in ways you probably didn’t think were real. They are, my beautiful Scorpions, they are. You are a vessel overflowing with the beauty of the world. Let others share in that amazing joy.
  • SAGITTARIUS TWO OF WANDS Well, sugar, it’s time to poop or get off the pot. Your time to make THAT decision is here. Your moment to choose a different path is right in front of you. The good news is it is time. The bad news is it is time. If you are feeling pressure to choose, blame the Universe if you must. Or look in the mirror at the person seeking perfection and missing true joy that is in the palm of their hands already.
  • CAPRICORN FOUR OF SWORDS To make that project work, you need to set up some firm boundaries. Don’t rabbit trail this week. Stay on target. The more quiet time you can carve out, the better. You have something dangling just out of reach. Just for now, let it dangle while you focus on something more at hand. The key for you this week is time. Don’t accept social invitations. Nose to the grindstone and headphones on. You can do this.

Today’s deck was the Ukiyoe Tarot that has been rereleased by U.S. Games Systems Inc. It’s a graceful deck that uses the Japanese style of art known as “floating world”.

I would love to help you find your joy. I use Tarot as a vehicle to explore ways to solidify your joy seeking practices and to guide you towards decisions that will be best for your life.

Not sure? You can get a free three card reading for me if you buy this workbook (the downloadable one) by 1/30/14. Any of the downloadable ones qualify and you can buy one as a gift. You can use the free reading or give it to whomever you give the workbook too. I recently did a guest post about this workbook here. I’d love to work with you.

Feel free to share this post however you like. ๐Ÿ˜€

Why I Don’t Do Resolutions Any More

Why I Don’t Do Resolutions Any More

Dream Raven Tarot, 2 of Cups
Dream Raven Tarot

There’s a reason I don’t do resolutions any more. see, I have a pet peeve. Well, I have a lot of them but there’s one in particular that just makes me snarly. And since I don’t like being snarly, I avoid people who break their promises.

The Two of Cups is a card that makes me think of kept promises but also the fragile future of a promise. So many things can come up. So many bumps that make us have to change our minds, break our promises.

A resolution, to me, is a promise I make to myself. When I inevitably break that promise, I get snarly with myself. Since I don’t like being snarly with myself, I don’t make resolutions.

[Tweet “Yes, indeedy, math truth tables by Arwen. It’s a joy I don’t do those more, right? :D”]

What I have learned is that if I create goals, I can see them in different ways. I set up specific steps to achieve them.

Are my goals resolutions?

Yes and no. Yes in that I am resolved to go them but no in that I don’t see them as promises to myself. I see them as things on my yearly to-do list.

So in a way I’m playing word games with my own head.

It works. I wasn’t doing resolutions for a long time nor was I doing goals. Then the workbook happened and I got busy. Really really busy.

Goal setting.
Celebrating success.

Was it easy? Nah…I had to make time for the work. I had to do the work. Then I had to get out of my own way.

So yes, I’m very fond of the workbook. I’m as fond of it as some of you may be sick of hearing about it from me. LOL

New Year Magic

That bears repeating. ‘I had thought 2013 sucked until I sat down to do the closing ceremony

Ace of Bows, Wildwood Tarot
Wildwood Tarot

Today’s card reminds me of my word for this year. I guess that’s appropriate seeing as how this is the last day for that word–although not for the energy of the word.

The Wildwood Tarot‘s Ace of Bows has the title of Spark of Life. This is a deck I need to work with more. The cards are rich with imagery. My friend Louise Underhill of Priestess Tarot works with this deck as does a new friend, Ellen.

One of the treasures 2013 brought to me has been the new and renewed friendships. This year was truly a galvanizing one. Many small sparks have spread into warm fires of success for me. One unlooked for blessing was an offer to blog somewhere. I can’t say where just yet, but it was a pretty big deal for me. It’s a one time thing but still, it’s a big deal.

Add to that my blogging (which I must get back to more regularly) with Witches And Pagans plus the three books submitted in 2013? Yeah, that sums up a pretty fabulous year of writing. Here on this page I managed to post nearly ever day so go me and go Cai (the other half of Marilu Mann.) If you like to read paranormal (and contemporary), go you to http://www.greatmta.com lol! )

This card also points towards a new beginning. The Ace of Bows is new life, new energy and bright, fresh, shiny starts. I’m embarking on a new journey in one week. I’ll be saying “I do” to a special someone. What better way to kick off 2014, right?

I know that I still have things that need improvement. There’s always room for improvement, yes? Things like unburying my guest room/office so it can actually see use as an office. Continued work on my health. More focus on my lines of income. All of those things will be part of my work with the 2014 Create Your Amazing Year Workbook + Planner.

I have to laugh here because I got an email last night. Here’s what K.C. had to say about this workbook.

“Hi, Arwen. While I’ll admit I got the Leonie Dawson workbook because of your 3-card mini read, I’ve sat down to do it and I am amazed. It is so wonderful. (Of course, you knew that already.) I had thought 2013 sucked until I sat down to do the closing ceremony. That in and of itself was a fabulous gift.

In fact, I loved it so much, I gave 2 as gifts using your link.”

[Tweet “That bears repeating. ‘I had thought 2013 sucked until I sat down to do the closing ceremony.'”]

I can so relate to that statement. I felt the same way about 2012! And of course there have been some sucktastic things about 2013, but the beautiful things (and all of the beautiful people) outweighed the suckage.

I’m thrilled to see someone else connect with the special magic of this workbook. It’s so much more than a calendar/planner. There’s magic waiting to happen. I’m looking forward to some time to work on this even more.

What magic do you want to happen in 2014. That’s your journal prompt, my darlings.

  • AQUARIUS THE BUILDER (EMPEROR) Details are important. The little things count. Bless your boundaries for they keep you sane. Rule with love always.
  • PISCES SEVEN OF EARTH What needs gentle replanting in your life? What good habits have slipped? Be kind. Rewind. There’s no shame in renewal!
  • ARIES SEVEN OF AIR Sometimes putting down the map to enjoy the trip is best. Travel doesn’t have to be so regimented, does it? Relax. Just go.
  • TAURUS STRENGTH Sometimes strength means not saving someone again. Sometimes you have to let them fall so they can learn to save themselves.2014 Incredible Workbook
  • GEMINI FOUR OF FIRE Revisit your space requirements. The spiritual ones. Use your elbows if you must but make a wider sacred space for you.
  • CANCER TEMPERANCE Focus on what needs to change for better balance. Letting energy flow rather than blocking it could bring better results. Try it.
  • LEO FOUR OF EARTH Try to enjoy what you have. Less outgo creates more income. Tighten up the purse strings. Budget now for 2014 fun.
  • VIRGO MOON Focus on transitions. Cycles teach lessons on how to hold beauty and release sorrow. Pay attention to your dreams. Deep meanings.
  • LIBRA THREE OF AIR Clear the air of old emotional pain. Write letters to your child self, your future self, your now self. Forgive. Let go.
  • SCORPIO SEEKER Set your sights on the far mountains. Embrace the valleys that take you down because that’s where the roads that lead up start.
  • SAGITTARIUS TEN OF FIRE Careful! Don’t take on too much. You need to finish decluttering first. Get rid of energies that don’t serve you. Clear the air.
  • CAPRICORN NINE OF WATER So much potential for WOW. Open up to being filled up. When you whisper your power word, the Universe delivers. Beauty

Today’s deck was my beloved Gaian Tarot. It’s my main reading deck for a reason.

Ups, Downs + In-Betweens

Because what is life if it is not a series of ups, downs and in-betweens?

Navigators of the Mystic Sea, Fool, U.S. Games Systems, INC
Navigators of the Mystic Sea

Today’s card is from a deck I am not familiar with. I have this image from another project. But the idea it represents really works for the Fool.

He slides down on one ribbon but there are so many other choices he could choose. The word here is Emanation. There are several definitions of this word. I think that the one that is best here is this one:

: the origination of the world by a series of hierarchically descending radiations from the Godhead through intermediate stages to matter.:

And out of that definition the one word that speaks to me the most is “series”.

[Tweet “Because what is life if it is not a series of ups, downs and in-betweens?”]

And what is life if we don’t live it?

One of the things I’m working on right now is my word for the year. Last year was GALVANIZE. I think it was a perfect choice. So now I’m on the hunt for this year’s word. Last year I came to the word by letting go of all my preconceived notions of what would be the “right” word. Once I tossed that out, I found GALVANIZE and it resonated.

I know that I want it to be a verb. I know that I want it to resonate. Those are the only two requirements.

It’s part of the workbook I keep hawking (grins at Dolphyngyrl). I’ve done the releasing. Now I’m moving into the setting up for next year.

Do you choose a word for the year? Do you have any requirements for that word? I’d love to hear about your process.

Remember that I’m doing three card readings for anyone who purchases this downloadable workbook (any version–personal, business or combo). Yes, you can give your reading away as a gift if you like. This offer is good through 1/30/2014. Yes, there’s a contest again this year. So that’s part of my push.

But really? The real push is because I honestly believe in this process. It worked for me.

Back to you. What’s your word if you have one?

Tasks, Gold + Akashic Records

Bindiya Aravandekar is my guest tonight on You Never Know. Set your alarms now so you don’t miss this one. Do watch the show at http://www.paraencountersnetwork.com/ Time:10:00pm EST.

Illuminati Tarot, SunToday’s card is a reminder to focus on what’s important. There are so many things in our daily lives that require attention. So many choices to make. But sometimes multi-tasking isn’t the way to go.

This Sun from the Illuminati Tarot by Erik C. Dunne and Kim Huggens reminds me of that. See this opulent sun? Set in a mirror of gold, it really can’t be missed.

What things in your life can’t be missed? Time to make a list of what needs to be done. Then do it!

For me, that’s working on my workbook. I have been holding off starting because I want the time to be right. Since tonight is the first night of the Full Moon (I do Full Moon workings the day before, day of and day after), I will start tonight.

But first, I have to prepare my Yule Tarot Blog Hop post. Then I have to go to work. And then I get to chat with a very interesting woman tonight!

Bindiya Aravandekar is my guest tonight on You Never Know. Set your alarms now so you don’t miss this one. Do watch the show at http://www.paraencountersnetwork.com/ Time:10:00pm EST.

We will be talking about the Akashic Records. Bindiya will discuss how she works with Akashic Record Healing to coach her clients and the healing that it has brought about.

She says she’s a bit nervous so I do hope a lot of you will show up to support her. See you tonight!

One thing I learned from Leonie’s fab workbook is the art of making a list of Most Important Tasks. Mine are simple. Each day walking 5000 steps and drinking 32 oz of water is on that list. Then I have a third one blank so I can add one more. And remember, if you get the workbook (the downloadable one), you get a free three card email reading from me. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sometimes that thing is “Smile at more people” or “compliment three strangers” or “focus on not responding to the bait”. Grin. I have to adjust it for me each day.

Incredible, Amazing + Powerful

I wish y’all were sitting here with me so I could look you in the eye. Then you would know how much I believe in this.

2014 Incredible Workbook
I raved about this last year. I’m still raving about it. If there is one thing I would instantly repeat from last year, it would be this. And I didn’t even finish it!

It’s true. I skipped around and did what called to me. This is one of the most empowering things I’ve ever undertaken. This workbook is all it’s cracked up to be.

NOTE: That’s an affiliate link. If you buy the “download and print” version, I get money from it. If you buy the Amazon print version, I don’t get money from it.

Either way is fine by me. It’s that good. I’m a member of ABLA (Amazing Biz + Life Academy). I don’t use it all the time but when I do? The payoff is amazing.

My Tarot business increased 300% the first year and I only joined in June! This last year has been an increase on that increase. My mailing list went from under 100 to over 500.

Seriously this is a business tool that works. Don’t want to invest in the full ABLA? No worries. Get the workbook. Do the work. Watch your life and business change.

Yeah, I know…this is like a used car salesman’s pitch.

I wish y’all were sitting here with me so I could look you in the eye. Then you would know how much I believe in this.

It’s that good.
