Today’s card is from my zentangles. It’s actually a mandala with zentangle elements. I’m most proud of the shading on this one.
I hesitated before I wrote that. It seems…well…a bit prideful, you know? (Pssst, you can click it to see a larger image)
But then again, why shouldn’t I say I like something that I did? Lately I’ve seen a trend. There’s this overbearing sense of humility out on the web.
“Gee, I don’t have anything you could possible want but here’s a book I wrote. Maybe you’ll like it?”
“Oh I don’t know why you are here reading my post when you could be out doing something really amazing.”
“If you have nothing better to do, maybe you could tell a friend about this widget I’m selling? It might really be okay.”
Y’all. Listen up.
There’s nothing wrong with saying, “I am selling houses now. If you are in the market, chat me up. I’ve got some killer marketing strategies.”
Or
“I rock at teaching entrepeneurs how to really shine.”
Which would you be more interested in?
A) So yeah, I write naughty girl porn books
or
B) I write this great series about sexy-as-sin shifters who meet their matches. From steamy New Orleans to saunas in Wisconsin, you will want one of these passionate hotties curled up in the bed with you.
I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again.
Be your own publicist.
I give you permission to tell me something amazing about yourself in the comments. Got a book you wrote? Have a product you sell? Host a can’t-be-missed radio show? Are you one bad mammajamma?
Tell me. Sing your own praises. Believe in yourself.
Yep, that’s your 180 seconds today. Commit to believing yourself. Commit to buying the hype about YOU.
I think you are freakin’ awesome. I want you to believe that too.
Oh and hey. I wrote this hella hot series about singe-your-hair sexy shifters. Check them out!
Seek joy, y’all. Pass it on.

Right. I’ll say it now. I wrote a wonderful book called Still Rock Water. I want to shout about it, tell everyone I contact on the internet to read it. It’s full of wonderful writing, excellent thoughts and a great plot. You’ll be a better person when you finish reading in ways you never thought existed. Here’s the link: Firefox http://ow.ly/jhKgB
Francene, that’s fabulous. I will check that book out.
You sure know how to challenge us, don’t you Arwen!
Okay, I’m working on a (Celtic) Lenormand deck with the fabulous artist Will Worthington, which will be published by US Games, hopefully in 2014. It will be beautiful, and have some totally novel approaches, while still honouring tradition! It can be found here: celticlenormand.com
And I’m running a fun, interactive workshop for people who want to learn the Lenormand system in May in London: http://www.innerwhispers.co.uk/pages/workshops.php
And, most exciting and one of those huge dreams I hadn’t even dared to dream, I’ll be speaking at this year’s 10th Anniversary UK Tarot Conference: http://www.tarotconference.co.uk/ The workshop will explore lots of ways to combine tarot and Lenormand in your readings, and it will be fascinating and entertaining! If you want some sneak peeks, I’m blogging about it here: http://innerwhisperscouk.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/combining%20forces
Whew!
Now there you go, Chloe! AND you were chosen as the up-and-coming person for that conference. ROCK ON!
Awesome post and so important. I agree with your perspective. Humility, to me, is being real about who you are – – strengths, areas of need, everything. The typical understanding of being humble is that self-deprecating view that you shared and I agree that it’s not true humility.
I’m an awesome mom and grandma and I have a really great website.
Leanne, I love your differences! Very well said.
I like “A” better.
LOL @Steve. You dirty boy! 😀
