The game remains the same. Some years ago I started a poetry challenge on a internet board. I called it 9Words: A Poetry Challenge. It was a way for me to feed my muse when she wasn’t playing well with others.
Since that time, many others have adopted this (and been published because of it). The macabre, off-kilter, incredibly talented Sir Daywalker started a group on Facebook for the 9Words challenge. I recommend his site if you like short stories as well. He’s truly gifted with words.
Another friend, the talented harpist, Aisling, is another who enjoys this exercise. This morning on Facebook I saw that she’d tagged me on one of her 9Words. I took up the challenge. Here are the results. Be gentle. I wrote it in about ten minutes.

Missions Of Some One
I’m on a mission seeking
One who would listen more.
A unique jar opener type.
My partner in remodeling.
I’m on a mission seeking
Wisdom from fools only.
Happily tossing large rocks
At all my glass houses.
I’m on a mission seeking
The remainder of my life.
Want to squander this years
On opening up cans of peace.
