And let’s move on to Sunday which was the very best day of all for me. Why?
Winchester Mystery House entry
Whale Watching entry
Because Goofy, Cai and I went for a long car ride. Long car trips with no particular destination rank very very high on my list of favorite ways to spend a Sunday. Really! I adore this because I can have time with my friends while seeing beautiful things!
And this was a truly beautiful trip. Goofy loaded us up and headed for the 17 Mile Drive from Monterey to Carmel. This took us down to the coast winding through beautiful stands of cypress trees and past some of the most famous golf courses! We saw Pebble Beach Golf Course among others.
Our first stop was a lovely beach front! Yes Goofy took this with his brand new Nikon D40!
Here is a closer shot of Cai and I that I love! Goofy took this one too! He’s got a brand new Nikon D40!
Some of the points had scenes that practically begged to be photographed. This one is one of them. And it worked because all three of us had nearly the exact same shot on our cameras when we shared photos! Made us laugh! This is one of Goofy’s. Did I mention that he has a brand new Nikon D40?
Here is another shot that shows the beauty of this area. Very similar to the last one, isn’t it! Wellll except for me showing off that T-shirt again! LOL Cai took this one, I think.
We laughed ourselves silly because we fell into a routine that involved one of saying “oooh pretty!” and Goofy would shout, “Picture!” and take the next parking area for our photo op! But with coastlines like this, who wouldn’t.
And we saw the Bixby Bridge which our tour guide, Goofy (he has a brand new Nikon D40), informed us was one of the most photographed scenes on the Pacific Coast highway (aka CA HWY 1). Here it is with Cai and Goofy! (I took this with my little Canon)
And with Cai and myself! (Goofy with his brand new Nikon D40)
I took this shot of Goofy. His shirt cracks me up! He got it the day before at Fisherman’s Wharf. It says “Blackbeard’s Triathalon: Drink, Pillage, Plunder”. SNORT!
And here is that Goofy Bastard from the front. He was in so much pain but still grinning!
This is a Beechy Ground Squirrel. There were four of these guys at one of our stops and they were all posing! I took this one and I didn’t use Goofy’s brand new Nikon D40.
We turned around and headed home. This is my shot of the sunset!
I need to mention that we were so enamoured of the coast that we failed to eat! LOL! So we ended the day on Cannery Row at Bubba Gump’s!
This was truly a fantastic trip and I’d go back in a heartbeat! We fell over about midnight and got on the 4am shuttle. Can you say TIRED? I thought you could!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my photodiary! Did you know that Goof got a new camera? It’s a Nikon D40!
