Poetry

I remember talking with someone about a black dog and how it related to Hecate. This is a poem I wrote sometime after that. The shadow of the black dog is something I actually did see. There was no dog there to cast that shadow either.

Full Death Moon

i have seen the shadow of the black dog twice
and i know She is calling me
Calling me to don the dark cloak again
Bidding me to dine with her tonight.

i have felt the shadow of the black dog twice
Can’t you hear the whispering trees coaxing
You to leave your warm campfires
To dance under the full moon sky?

i have seen the shadow of the black dog twice
And i know that i am at my crossroads again.
That it is time to set my feet to the path
To eat and love with my Lady.
