Poetry: Two pieces

These are both in answer to the poetry challenge on Butch-Femme.com that I started. One is my set of words and the other is a set of words (9) from another member there.

Silk Purses

She cast her pearls before
Rowdy cowboys oblivious
to her counting pinenuts.
“Might as well go to the disco”
She thought with bitter candor.

What Cows Dream Of

If only I had a chipmunk face
instead of this rounded bowl
I look in the mirror and see a few
cows staring back at me.

My desire is to be curvy and graceful
Instead I stomp through doors
Like a heifer who can only pine
For what she can never be.
