Tarot In Nine Words – The Magician

Rider-Waite-Smith Magician

Well the next in this journey is the Magician. Traditional meanings are about manifesting power and controlling it as well as using the tools. Most cards show the Magician with four symbols to represent the suits of the Minor Arcana.

I love the Magician in the World Spirit Tarot because he is moving! He has taken his tools and turned them into a blur of movement. Unlike the RWS Magician, here we have no static man pointing high and low.

Everything about this card is about action for me. So the words I choose for this 9Words exercise are as follows:

Create, Move, Juggle, Magician, Manifest, Power, Self, Discovery, Tools

Tarot In Nine Words – The MagicianWorld Spirit Magician

Abracadabra my life moves now
No time to waste on inner self
Pick up my tools and create life
Learn to juggle as I hurl myself
Into a discovery of creativity
Where the only real power I have
Emerges as pure heart pure spirit
Magician manifest your self

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww! Like I said, sometimes my 9Words exercises results in trite, contrived poems. This is one of those times. I just don’t feel like it gets the energy of the Magician for me!

  1. I love the World Spirit Deck. But I’d give my right leg for a pocket version. She a B**** to shuffle, man!

I still can’t find where to subscribe to your blog via email but I seem to be getting notification via your Ezine now so… who cares?

Thanks for putting my blog link on your blog! I put you on mine too.

If you ever get bored, you can also come see me at http://genierobinson.blogspot.com/

Apologies if I already plugged that blog.

  2. I misunderstood! I will seek a “subscribe by email” link thingy. I have never had any problems shuffling the World Spirit. The smaller decks can be problematic. 🙂

  3. Tarot Reader here, logged in as Photog, anyway… the larger decks are so hard for me to shuffle. I just can’t hold them right. I love pocket decks, they’re a dream (many of them, anyway). My hands are big, but arthritis makes the bigger decks hard for me.
