Now let’s visit the Hierophant. Interestingly enough one of the words I chose for this card also was used in the Emperor. Stern. Stern to me is that firmness that brooks no argument. It can not be wheedled or pleaded. Stern simply is. I don’t see it as a bad thing. For me stern means “I know best. It may not be easy, but it is what must be done.”
The nine words I chose are, of course, based on what jumps out at me from the card. I’d love to see your own poetry using this method. Just pick nine words from the card and then use them in a poem. 🙂
Blessing Rod Stern Syncophants Keys Pillars Cardinal Trinity Gray
Tarot In Nine Words: The Hierophant
Sit between the pillars all-knowing
Knowledge towers beside faith
Cardinal red for passion’s belief
Don’t tolerate the syncophants
You’ve given them the key freely
Blessing them in their search
Stern guardian of the trinity
Knowledge, Faith, Worship
Hold the rod up for us to see
Gray for the unknown behind you
Sit in stewardship to protect us
You are the Hierophant, the Pope.
