If you’ve ever experienced a sagging middle in your plot, know that you are not alone! I’m sure you know the building blocks of a good story, but there’s just so much conflicting info. Many writers fear losing their voice if they follow too many rules. Are you afraid you will never just finish the book? Purchase a Writers combo package and you and I will work together. I will show you how I use Tarot to help create stories your editors will beg you for.
WRITERS TAROT COMBO 2009 EXTENSION!
Are you afraid you will never just finish the book? If you’ve ever experienced a sagging middle in your plot, know that you are not alone! I’m sure you know the building blocks of a good story, but there’s just so much conflicting info. Show don’t tell! No flat characters! Use the 5 senses! But everyone has their own way. Many writers fear losing their voice if they follow too many rules.
Want a tool that will help you plot, learn about your characters and help you finish the damned book? Have you been thinking you would like to learn to read the Tarot for yourself? Scared that there is just too much to memorize? Ready to try something new? Continue reading “WORKSHOP: Tarot For Writers”
Always remember that if a scene doesn’t move the plot, then it should be thoroughly examined. Does it support the development of the characters? Is it integral to the whole story? Remember, above all, this is your story. Look at the cards and let the pictures tell you a story so you can tell your story.
Here is a spread I developed in 2003 on Aeclectic Tarot. It underwent several transformations until it became this spread. It is detailed but remember the cards are there to SPARK your creativity not tell you what to write. That’s very important to remember.
Tomorrow is the very last day to sign up for the Tarot for Writers:Hero’s Journey. There were only a few seats left when I wrote this but I post-date my entries. If you are doing the NaNoWriMo writing challenge, I’ve scheduled this to start on 11/1 so you can use the workshop to help you hit your 50,000 word goal.
Come join Stephanie Arwen Lynch for a wild ride into the divination system of Tarot as it applies to fiction writing. Hang on to your manuscripts as she introduces you to the Hero’s Journey spread as well as other tools to help you develop your characters, yourself and your books. Let Arwen show you a new way to approach your writing. Meet your characters as you have never met them before. Learn about their quirks and let your journey through the cards introduce you to their own past. Defeat Writer’s Block with the Tarot cards to give you insight.
