Tarot & Food: Three of Wands Crockpot Stroganoff Chicken

Some of my favorite recipes are the ones that require a slow-cooker or a crockpot. Your entire house doesn’t heat up. You don’t have to rush in after work to throw something together. It’s just a great device. The downside to a slow-cooker is that you have to wait though.

While I was thinking about various crockpot recipes I love, I also tried to figure out which card would go best with a slow-cooker, gotta-wait-for-it meal. Several cards came to mind immediately but the one I decide was perfect for this yummy meal was the 3 of Wands.

This is the card I like to call the “Anticipation” card. Points if you can sing that Carly Simon song with me! “Anticipation… it’s keeping me waiting…” My clients who get this card know I’m going to tell them what my mother told me.

“Sometimes when you are waiting for your ship to come in, the best thing to do is to get your feet wet.” Marilu

Of course what she meant was for me to stop sitting around hoping and get working on my dreams. Smart woman, my mama. So here is a recipe for you to throw on in the morning so you can get out there after your dreams during the day. Then when you come home you will have a lovely hot meal waiting for you to finish up. And you haven’t lost your entire day or even your evening.

Crockpot Stroganoff Chicken

4 chicken breast halves, skinless, boneless, cubed
1/8 cup margarine
1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix

1/2 TSP Black Pepper

1 package cream cheese, 8oz, fat free
1 can cream of chicken soup

Put chicken, margarine, pepper and dressing mix in slow cooker; mix together and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours.

Add cream cheese and soup, mix together and cook on high for another 1/2 hour or until heated through and warm.

Serve over egg noodles or rice (noodles hold the sauce better, I think). A green salad on the side and some crusty warm Italian bread and you are set for dinner!

  1. What a lovely post, Arwen! I use the World Spirit deck in my readings all the time. I use a slightly different meaning than your, but I think from now on when I see this card I’ll think: “Stroganoff Chicken”.

  2. My interpretations of the cards tend to be very very fluid depending on who I’m reading for and where the cards fall. Grin, for this exercise, I have to go with a somewhat more standard meaning for each card. The World Spirit Tarot is lovely, isn’t it?
